I am taking an interest in learning podcasting. Having completed some basic research I have found some great resources for learning how to podcast. I have also have found some great freeware for producing a podcast.

Learning in Hand is a website that targets the audience of children. The goal of this site is to teach children about the new and coolest technologies available. The site is written by Tony Vincent who taught fifth grade in Omaha, Nebraska for six years. His website is easy to read and easy to learn from. I have no problem with the issue that it is designed for children becuase the value of his knowledge is helpful even for adults.

I have read his article regarding Podcasting which provides links to freeware. A person of any age with time and determination can read the article, download the freeware and begin podcasting.

Another great source for learning about cool technology is Jake Ludington’s MediaBlab. On this website I found a tutorial for Recording a Podcast.

I have not started podcasting yet, but just wait because I am gonna give it a try. I have already followed the basic steps provided on both of these websites and I have made some recordings. Nothing worth sharing but to paraphrase Ernest Hemingway, ‘Everything starts out as poop.’ It gets better with each revision and every effort to improve. Of course Ernest Hemingway was talking about writing but I believe his message applies to anything.
